EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

AAUW Redlands supports:

  • College/University Partnership program
  • Educational Funds national scholarships
  • Local scholarships

College/University Partnership: Our partners are University of Redlands and Crafton Hills Community College. Each college has designated two representatives who work with us to promote AAUW’s commitment to building a better future for women and girls by participating in AAUW programs, scholarships and other opportunities for young women. One of our goals is to send a student from each of these two colleges to attend the National Conference College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) in June. Thanks to our members’ generosity we sent one fortunate student to the AAUW National Leadership Conference June 2015.

AAUW Redlands provides fellowships and grants to woman for education, research and community programs.  The Redlands branch raises funds through donations, an annual theater party, crafts sales, and events (see below). We support two scholarship efforts:

EF is one of the world’s largest sources of funding for graduate women. In the 2012-13 academic year, EF provided more than $4.3 million in funding for more than 278 fellowships and grants to outstanding women and nonprofit organizations. Fellowship and grant recipients perform research in a wide range of disciplines and work to improve their schools and communities. Their intellect, dedication, imagination, and effort promise to forge new paths in scholarship, improve the quality of life for all, and tackle the educational and social barriers facing women in the United States and around the globe.
